    Amazon.com Product Description
Enjoy your favorite iPod tunes everywhere you roam with the iRhythms 28-watt portable docking speaker system. Equipped with a universal dock that's compatible with any iPod with a dock connector (excepting the iPod shuffle), the A-302 combines crisp, rich sound with a compact size, making it ideal for on-the-go use. The clean audio performance stems from the 4-inch poly-carbon high-excursion woofer (in an enclosed pearl white acrylic cabinet) and the pair of 0.75-inch high-frequency tweeters, which produce a blended audio performance perfect for rock, pop, jazz, and just about anything else. The MaxxBass circuitry and acoustically balanced chamber, meanwhile, create a deeper, cleaner bass response than those of most portable speaker systems. And thanks to the A-302's magnetically shielded drivers, you can locate the speaker system near a TV without interfering with the picture.

Other details include an auxiliary input jack for connecting personal CD players, MP3 players, and other devices and a remote control that handles all the standard functions, including adjusting the volume, skipping or repeating tracks, fast-forwarding and rewinding, or pausing. The A-302, which charges your iPod while you listen, measures 11.75 by 6.5 by 6.75 inches (W x H x D) and carries a one-year warranty.

    What's in the Box
A-302 speaker system, AC power supply, remote control, user's manual.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Speaker System   February 17, 2009

I just received this docking system for my iPod and I LOVE it!!! I have a video iPod and an iPod touch and I have traveling systems for watching the movies/tv shows and music videos but I did not have something for home other than a small speaker system the size of the iPod. My favorite feature on this system is the alarm. I love being able to choose what playlist my alarm will wake me up to, and I can change it all the time if I want to. It's great. The sound is crystal clear and the remote control means I don't have to get out of bed LOL. Overall I am very pleased with this birthday gift!!!!!!!

Works great, gets very loud with good base. The only thing I don't like is that it has no option for batteries, so you can't take it away from the house. So I'm going to have to buy a different one to take camping. Other than that I am very pleased with it.

4 out of 5 stars Clearance Bargain - and has some oomph!   September 12, 2006

These were on sale for $109 at our local area all-in-one shopping center... Bought one of these, and also found a JBL On Stage II for a substantial discount. The JBL looks like a much higher end item, the iRhythm system looks very "plastic", but does match nicely with black ipods.

The Sound: The iRhythms system has a LOT more low end (you can actually FEEL the bass), but is lacking on the top end. You can change your EQ on the ipod to boost the treble, or use an acoustic setting and get a pretty good sound.

Whereas the JBL sounds very clear and crisp, but no matter what settings you use on your ipod, you will never get bass like the iRhythm system.

Music Style: It all depends on the type of music you are wanting to listen to. But if you can find one of these for less than $120 and you like to listen to pop, rock, or things where you want to actually feel the bass thump, you can hardly beat this for a smaller system. If you like acoustic, classic, very crisp stuff, the JBL is hard to beat.

Rating: If it were the full price, I would rate it as a 3.5 stars... for comparable 109 dollar systems, it gets 4.5 stars...

Durability: I have no idea how it will hold up over time as we've only had it for about a week so far.

Go listen to one in a store, bring your own ipod, adjust the EQ to boost the upper end a bit and see if you don't agree that it sounds pretty darn good for the money (if the money is less than $120). If it's full price, then the Altec IM7 should get the nod, especially at amazon's great price of $149.
