It works great for a camping trip. Even when the batteries are out, it works... only loses the amplification.

I love this thing. I worked in a warehouse when I got it, and usually set it in front of my computer monitor so I could listen to music while entering data. The volume got just high enough to not annoy my co-workers while allowing me to hear it just fine. I rarely ever had to use the batteries, I kept that turned off most of the time. The best part was this though - when I had to wander around the warehouse, I could slip this into the side pocket of my Carhartt's to take it with me. It was a real boon for me, considering the quality of music played over the loudspeakers.

I bought one from Fry's for five bucks. The price here is ridiculous. Overall this is a good product, if you can get one cheap.

This is a portable speaker. Although it's designed for Creative Zen Stone, you can use it with any mp3 player with an audio extension cable. I bought the speaker from Fry's for a sale price of $2.99 (regular price is $4.99). It's a steal. Use it with my Zune and my netbook. The quality is a lot better than other small brand portable speakers which normally pricing around $10~$25. Not the greatest speaker in the world, but the greatest with its size and price.

Frustrated that this thing only works with zen stone products? A simple female to male headphone extension cable will take care of that nicely. (Of coure the ipod doesn't snap snuggly into the unit...it just sits at the end of it's cable next to the speakers.) Works with any player that has a standard headphone jack.
