Why??? July 29, 2010 Katherine (Colorado, USA) This is a great looking little device that would be perfect for my needs if only it had a HEADPHONE JACK!! What's that all about? Why on earth would Sony ever produce a bedside unit like this without a headphone jack? And so, I'm taking it back tomorrow. Can't use it and it's a shame.
Manufacture Defected when we recieved it. July 27, 2010 SuperReviewer When I bought this item, I thought I was saving money and time, but apparently not. When I recieved this item from the retailer (Electronic Express), the box looked brand new but when I opened and tested it, it was already manufacture defected. When I called Sony customer service, they refused to give a warrenty exchange, even when the item was still under warrenty so I had to go back to Electronic Express. They then said that they would allow an exchange but I would have to pay for the shipping. It took over 3 weeks from the time we ordered it to the time we got a working clock. In the end, I did not save any money.
The sound quality of this alarm clock is pretty good when the volume is low but poor when the volume is high. The docking station for the iPod/iPhone is not very sturdy. When I insert my iPhone 3GS into the slot, the phone shakes around, making me wonder if I would break my phone just by tapping on it. But the charging is quick. Over all, this alarm clock is only average.
Junk July 25, 2010 corazon (houston) This is junk. Lousy sound, awkward controls, even the remote is bad. Clock light is excessively bright even at low setting. All around terrible design.
Got this for amex points, to use in the kitchen on top of the fridge - not bedside. Admittedly that's not what it's designed for, as most of the controls are on the top curved surface and only accessible with lower placement. Still, it's been a total disappointment.
To repeat, it's junk.
Stopped giving correct time long ago July 22, 2010 Mainer The only reason I kept this alarm clock is because I still use the CD and Ipod functions. It stopped displaying the correct time about 4 months into owning it. The funny thing is that after one power outage, it started showing a different incorrect time. "Why is your clock 37 minutes fast?" one friend asked me. And there's no way to override it. Alas, I didn't buy this off of Amazon, but rather at Best Buy, which has a much less user-friendly return policy, so I'm stuck with it. FYI when it was working, I found the controls much more confusing than one's average alarm clock (and I'm no ludite). I've mistakenly set the A and B settings while using my Ipod or a CD and have woken up at less than optimal times over the weekend. And I spent $99.99 on it. I hope for all of your sakes that it's just a lemon, but it does make me wary of purchasing auto time set clocks in future.
Great product July 20, 2010 bopeep (Augusta, GA) I use this at work to listen to my iPod. I occasionally get weird error messages from the iPod - telling me that there is airplane interference or something- but a little moving the iPod around makes it go right back to normal. Can't figure out how to run a line-in, though.
