Great travel companion July 29, 2010 Traveler193 (San Francisco, CA) Overall: a great travel companion - compact with very good sound, and it's rechargeable.
Pros:
Compact
Very good sound
Good bass
Good volume
Rechargeable battery
Cons:
Haven't found any yet.
I have owned this X-II Mini Capsule for a couple of months and have taken it with me on some long business trips in Europe. I have been very pleased with this speaker and consider it a great travel companion. I use an iPod Touch and primarily listen to jazz, classic rock and classical music, and have found the speaker performs very well for jazz and classical and pretty well for classic rock. The limits are bass and volume. Bass is surprisingly good for such a small unit, but because it is a small unit, it does have a limit. Same for volume. You won't bring down the roof with this unit, but in a hotel room it's perfectly fine. It has an on-off switch and volume controls, and a short cable to connect to an mp3 player or computer headphone jack. One big plus in my mind is the rechargeable battery. The battery lasts a pretty long time, and all it takes to recharge is to connect it to a computer via a USB port (cable included). No carrying around AAA batteries. And note that because no batteries are required, there are cost savings over the life of the speaker - why it almost pays for itself! Add in the nifty carrying pouch, and this is a winner.
Great choice!!! July 25, 2010 Ojedeji Seun Samson (Nigeria) I had an X-mini Menotek X-MINI Capsule Speaker before, then i lost it and decided to get an X-mini IIX-Mini II Capsule Speaker this time around...the product is wonderful; the sound quality and loudness in unbelievable, it comes with a carrying case and battery life is ok which justifies why its quite heavier than the XI. I have not exhausted the battery since i got it, so can't really tell how long it last, but i ran it for 4Hrs on battery without a glitch. Will buy this again in near future.
Thanks
Hmmming noise July 22, 2010 Raja Gupta (Keene, NH USA) The speaker is very convenient and sounds ok. The major turn off is the hmm noise when the speaker is not on and when it is on. Its very annoying. The concept is good but the implementation of concept is horrible.
Not what I expected July 21, 2010 Amir Alturkistani (Pullman, WA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
"The sound for the size is good". that what most reviews here are saying, which makes me wonder: what year are they living in. My labtop tiny speakers give me a better experience except for the barely heared small sub woover.
I didn't care much for the product simply because it didn't cost much and that is what most over priced garbage cost.
28 bucks for useless speaker that no body needs not in any situation.
thank you, but I'll deal with the size of an actual speaker that cost the same and delivers ten times the sound.
useless toy, thats how I would describe this product in short.
Surprisingly Loud July 21, 2010 David Gallo (RIDGEFIELD, CT, US) This little speaker will surprisingly fill up a huge room with loud, clear sound. The bass is very deep for its size and is sure to be a hit everywhere you go
