Great product for the price February 8, 2010 DWireless (PARLIN, NJ, US) I bought these speaker primarily to be used my phone to play music. For this purpose it works great. I brought it with me on a cruise and was perfect for playing music in the room. The sound quality is good (slightly better when connected through the aux wire than with bluetooth, but still decent with bluetooh) I haven't used the speaker phone so I can't comment on that. I got these speakers for $45.00, Definitely worth the price.
horrible sound quality! December 4, 2009 Fernando P. (AZ, USA) I own a laptop and convert it into a desktop by connecting it to a monitor and wireless mouse/keyboard and I was hopeing a small neat looking speaker.
It connected via Bluetooth fine.. it looks neat, seems to feel nice and sturdy, but the sound via Bluetooth is terrible. Via AUX is fine though.
With Bluetooth, if you turn up the volume all the way up on the device you start to hear annoying white noise on standby. Once you actually play something on it sounds like static. I turned down the device volume and maxed out the computer volume, this eliminated the white noise but just DID NOT make movies, music and games sound anywhere NEAR loud enough to be enjoyable.
I would not recommend this,
I have not used any of the phone features.
Speakers in a can November 5, 2009 Tim Allen (Dallastown, PA USA) Returned for a refund! I believe the speakers I received were defective because the sound quality was very poor. The speakers would play for five minutes and stop working; I would need to disconnect and reconnect the speakers to get them to start playing again. Amazon was very good with the return and the refund went smoothly.
looks good May 2, 2009 S. Choi (Cambridge, MA + Saratoga, CA) I had to return this item since the bluetooth didn't work with my older Mac. I was unable to use but customer service was great, and the size was decent - just larger than I expected.
Works, but not as well as some would like. November 30, 2008 Joseph Massimino (Jensen Beach, Florida United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this to work with a Bluetooth phone as a speakerphone, to cut down on cell phone radiation to the head. For this purpose it will work well, as long as you don't turn the volume up loud enough to have the caller hear their own voice echo back to them. Once the volume was reduced, it worked pretty well. The caller has to be asked to speak up in order to get enough volume out of it.
As for using it as a Bluetooth speaker, it would work pretty well as long as you don't have a Bluetooth mouse on the same system. When you move the mouse, you would get interruptions in the sound. Also, the range is not 33 feet. Even with it plugged into a wall outlet, its range was no more than 10 feet in open air. If you pass a wall, forget about it, the range is cut down far more through walls.
The sound quality is pretty good, but if you have to have it so close, I would suggest a JBL product that I own and love, or the Saitek A-100 which I also have and love. The Saitek has awesome sound for a very compact speaker that will run from batteries, or a wall wart. The wall wart does not come with it, but the batteries last a while. It turns off as soon as you disconnect it from the computer. The JBL as the best sound, but is bigger and comes with a power adapter, and costs more than the Saitek. There are reasons to buy the Saitek and not the JBL, and the best of them is the size, price and performance ratio. It is what some call, "The Best Bang for the Buck" , BBB for short.
