Good sound and features for the money June 25, 2010 Michael D. Kastler (vernon hills, il usa) The Macally TunePro is a classy looking, high performing piece of equipment. The flat panel, smoked glass background really sets this piece apart in your bedroom. It comes complete with adapters for all the current and past versions of the iPod plus a connector for any other mp3 player (though you can't wake to those).
Functionally, everything is great - particularly the double alarm settings, and the location of the snooze button being far away from the 'turn the darn thing off' button makes it much less likely you'll make a horrible meeting-missing mistake in the morning.
The sound quality is quite good, particularly considering the size and the cost. Short of paying double or triple what this costs I don't know that you could get better sound for the size. There are many audio options, including SRS and WOW for expanded surround sound and bass performance.
The two negatives I would give this are that it's large for an alarm clock, and there is no powersave battery location. It also is a little tricky to set, and you have to remember to turn the alarm back on once it's been turned off in the morning. These are pretty minor issues however - overall this is a top-notch product!
Overall Rating - 4 out of 5 Chips.

Buy this if you have a TIN EAR !! June 9, 2010 Baz Q. Public (Claymont, DE, USA) Well now, where do I begin? As I happily pack this up for a refund, and tearfully cast this from my sight and ears forever.....
First of all, when I purchased it, it was reduced down to $[...]. So, those of you seeing it now back up at $[...]. and ready to buy,
be forewarned that even at $[...]. this was the WORST sounding piece of crap I have heard in a long time. Here are the pro and cons:
Pro: It was designed to look good.
Cons: It sounds like a small AM radio from the 1960s. Even with it's 3 Audio controls "WOW"/TRE/BASS in ANY variation, the sound
only gets worse. The TREBLE is paper thin and tinny. The BASS on #3 adds some bottom, until you turn it up anywhere past very low,
it then distorts. As it is, the way the speakers are designed into the casing, it causes whatever surface it sits on, to rattle! So more bass=
more rattle! The SRS "Wow" stands for "Worst Of Worst". It simply approximates similar technology from about 15 years ago, and
pass it off as something new. Don't fall for it. Mrs.Macally, you should be ashamed! Then, you will just love the control buttons: they are tiny and
when you try and press one, you had better be holding the unit with your other hand, as it's lack of heft will simply make it slide backward.
The placement of some buttons in the rear, is totally awkward. The FM radio barely pulled in 5 stations, and with noise. As for the alarm,
the clock, the sleep......who cares, when the sound is grating! I did not get to all that, as I need this out of my world right now!
Actually, I am ordering a second LogiTech Pure-Fi Express Plus today, instead, simply for it's INCREDIBLE sound quality, and the best
bang for your buck! I will submit a review on that, soon.

Nice Clock, Nice Look, Best price around! March 22, 2010 Donna Hooper (Atlanta) It was the best price around and arrived just as described. Shipping was fast. The stereo/alarm/clock were a bit complicated getting programmed but resorted to actually reading the directions helped me out :)
Really sharp looking with the mirrored time reflecting through the panel. I have had no problems with it to date.
Nice...if it worked all the time. September 19, 2009 M. Clark (Glen Gardner, NJ, USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this for my girlfriend to use with her iPod Nano. It has a really sleek look to it, and the sound is not bad for a radio it's size. Certainly good enough for listening in a small room. However, the problem I have with it, and the reason it's only getting two stars, is that it randomly stops playing and skips ahead. It will just stop in the middle of a song and just jump to the next song, or it sometimes skips several songs. It also did this with my iPod Classic. In my opinion, that renders this pretty useless. The only reason it didn't get one star is because like I said, it sounds decent and looks nice.
Awesome Sound! Has its flaws May 8, 2009 G. Pedroni (Bensenville, il United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Got this for my wife as an alarm clock. Read all the reviews so I knew in my head this would function mostly as an alarm clock and not compete against other "sound/stereo systems" for the ipod. I've got the 3rd gen.
The sound quality is awesome with WOW on, I wouldn't go adjusting the Treble or Bass as its not that great, but WOW on is a must on this baby. Although occasionally with WOW on some MP3's sound rough and require a skip or WOW to be turned off. Poor quality MP3 is usually the issue not the WOW from what I gather.
The aesthetics are awesome! Flat panel speakers (which is suprisingly good on audio) have a great mirror finish, just dont touch with your oily hands! The vibrations are neat but no biggie. it fits nicely on the night stand without taking up much room compared to some other docks i've seen. It looks beautiful. The alarm clock LED's are very nice and bigg enough for my sleepy eyes.
Alarm volume, can be crazy, but an alarm is to wake you up I guess. Not a big deal for my wife and I it gets us out of be. I found leveling the volume is just fine.
AM I never use... no comment
FM in my area of Cali, I can't get reception on any household radio... but the stations I can pickup are fine. You definitely have to extend the antenna. Other may have better comments on this one.
Buzzer, never used it... just use the ipod for waking up. oh which reminds me you have to predefine the playlist to wake up to and it will play that song in the morning. It does have two preset times which it had 4, but not many alarm clocks go beyond 2. Snooze button is big enough and in a good enough spot for me.
I can't seem to get mine to charge my ipod all the time, but the auto shutoff is good to conserve the battery. I may have a glitch or bad one, haven't heard any bad reviews on this so maybe I got a lemon.
All in all LOVE the sound, LOVE the look, and I do enjoy the alarm clock. I can't really complain much, but for others it may be annoying.
