More Than Happy With Logitech! July 23, 2010 Dan I purchased the Logitech Pure Fi Anywhere 2 as a used product for $49. Though im typically against ordering anything used that has a minimal description and background, I have been completely satified with the product.
Ill start with my cons:
1. The speakers are light on bass, but that was expected having tried the product out before and it being a small unit.
2. Remote not as responsive as I had hoped. You do have to be somewhat close and clearly directly in front of it, but it does allow you to access the full menu so its not that bad.
3. Full charge only seems about 6-7 hours. Most likely this is due to mine being a used unit, but it is clearly short of the 10 hour suggested battery life.
4. Features and Buttons on unit. The features are very limited, no tuner, no video out, etc. And the only way to play an ipod once in the unit is either by pressing play on the ipod itself, or by using the remote. I think they should have a play button on the unit itself.
Pro:
1. Batter Life: yes i just listed it as a con, but overall its longer than most others say, like some Altec portable models.
2. Design, its small, looks great and is very easy to take traveling, esp since it comes with a case. The case has a slot for the remote and the ac plug snuggly fits into the dock area.
3. Sound, although light on bass overall, it gets loud for a portable unit and with 4 speakers it sounds great. It gave ample sound on a recent canoe trip as well as a weekend getaway to the lake.
Overall, i would HIGHLY recommend this product for use as an outdoor and travelling ipod dock that provides ample sound and longer batter life than most. Its short on features and somewhat on bass if you want to use it for a bedroom or living room. For that I'd recommend a phillips all in one unit that comes with Am/FM, Video out, CD player, and provides more bass. But this logitech dock is definitely worth the money i paid!!!!
Logitech speakers July 3, 2010 Elle I bought this for my daughter, and she absolutely loves it! The size is perfect and gives clear, dimensional sound. It also comes with a carrying bag so she can pack it up and take it to a friend's house.
The Buttons Break April 20, 2010 Foghorn Leghorn (Bay Area, CA USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was a great portable audio system for my ipod until the buttons broke off. The buttons on the top of the unit have plastic hinges that eventually break off leaving the system useless. I am going to try the mm50 model. It seem like they have re-engineered the buttons on that one.
good product with clean sound February 12, 2010 Jay Tripathi I purchased this product as a gift for a family member. It was easy to connect up. Its primary use is for connection to a satellite radio receiver and we're satisfied with the performance for that use and as an I-Pod player.
Don't buy - speakers shut off without warning January 5, 2010 Steve Reyes 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I could not get this device to play through even one song without shutting itself off. From what I've been able to gather from other people's reviews on another website, it is a technical glitch that is widespread and stems from an automatic shut-off feature of the unit.
