Most speakers are designed to radiate sound in a fixed direction. As shown in Figure 1, traditional speakers optimize sound for a sweet spot located directly in front of the speakers. In other words, the sweet spot is limited to a constrained sound field that fans outward in one direction. If you’re outside the sweet spot, you’ll hear unbalanced sound due to loudspeaker directionality. Logitech Audio Labs' omnidirectional speakers differ from traditional speakers. Designed to radiate sound more uniformly over a wider range of frequencies and angles, Logitech’s omnidirectional speakers create a broad sweet spot that is not dependent on a fixed listening position, as shown in Figure 2. This is the best, I bought 2 before this and gave them away, as the sound was not good, or the radio (which i didn't care if I had), this Logitech Pure -Fi express had The greatest sound of all i have tried or bought. I gave away the 2 I bought, I would recommend this to any one looking for a speaker dock that wants great quality,fantastic sound, and easy to carry if needed.

I bought this little gem from a one day sale on another website. I almost cancelled my order with them because I didn't think it would allow me to wake to my iPod which is the entire reason I bought it. I was pleased to find that if I leave the speakers on, when I set the alarm on my iPod it does in fact work. The sound is fantastic. Omnidirectional speakers really do fill the room with sound. Of course the bass isn't amazing but overall sound is definitely above acceptable. For sixt y five dollars this would still be worth it. I got mine refurbed for less. Remote works well. YOU CAN STILL DO EVERYTHING WITHOUT THE REMOTE. If you lose it its no big deal. Still really nice to have. I would recommend to anyone.
