Bottomline
The sound is as good as you can expect for a speaker at this price range, no complaints there. The iLive system, however,simply does not work. I've found other reviews while looking for tech support on line and there is a pattern of this system not working. Do not waste your time talking to iLive customer support, they are cynically unwilling to admit their IS809 system does not work. However, I am going to trade up to IS819 and give iLive one last try simply because of the price. If iLive actually manages to make this technology work, then it is an incredible bargain. Other wilreless technologies I found would cost 5 to 10 times more, so for me it is worth the hassle having to ship everything back to get the new system.
 I returned this speaker because it wasn't compatitble. February 6, 2010

This speaker didn't match the system we first purchased so we returned it. Later, as we did more investigtion swapping to the compatible set up seemed a bit sketchy so we just decided to simply move the unit outdoors with us until a more reliable speaker system appears.
