The iP9 also allows you to wake to your custom iPod playlist at different times on different days with iHome's 7-5-2 feature and programmable snooze settings. You'll also enjoy great sound around the clock with their Reson8 stereo speaker chambers. An innovative clock radio for iPhone & iPod. Click to enlarge. | Reson8 speaker chambers deliver rich, powerful audio. | Remote included. | iPod, iPhone, Radio or Buzzer Alarm Wake to your docked iPod, the radio, or--if you must--a classic buzzer alarm. Whichever you choose, a gradual alarm feature gently raises the alarm volume, so it's not too jarring. Dual alarm lets you set separate wake times. You can set separate wake times for weekdays and weekends, and can wake to the playlist or song of your choice. Programmable Snooze The iP9's programmable snooze feature allows you to set snooze intervals of 1 to 29 minutes, so you can milk every last second of sleep before you're late for work. Sleep Features Drift off to your iPod, iPhone or radio, with programmable sleep times of 120, 90, 60, 30, or 15 minutes. Gentle Sleep gradually decreases the music volume as you drift off to dreamland. What's more, an Adjustable Sleep volume solves an age-old alarm clock problem, allowing you to select a comfortable "sleep" volume level without affecting the "wake to" or listening volume levels. Play and Charge Your iPod or iPhone The iP9's Universal dock plays and charges most docking iPod models (in addition to using them for alarms), along with the iPhone. So when you do finally wake up, your device will have a full charge as you head out the door. DST Switch Switch to Daylight Savings Time at the flick of a switch, rather than pushing buttons for that whole extra hour. AM/FM Radio The iP9 delivers solid radio listening, complete with an external AM antenna for better reception. Save your favorite stations on the AM/FM presets. Big Sound, Small Package The iP9 delivers powerful audio with stereo drivers in specially designed Reson8 speaker chambers. Reson8 is iHome's through-body ported speaker chamber technology. Porting speakers gives better bass response characteristics, and helps the iP9 deliver sound beyond its size. Bass, treble, 3D and balance controls let you further adjust the sound to your liking. Auxiliary Input Connect external devices like MP3 or CD players to the rear auxiliary input for your enjoyment. Full-Function Remote Control Enjoy convenient control from a distance with the included remote--control both radio and iPod functions. What's in the Box iP9 Clock Radio and Audio System (Black), Remote control, Docking inserts, AC power adapter, AM antenna and stand, Owner's manual.

Ihome clock radio July 21, 2010 Linda Peterson-Schmidt (Florida) I am new to having an ipod so when I bought mine from Amazon I did not have a dock to put it in. After much research I decided to go with this IHOME. It is perfect for having your dock in the bedroom. You have a place to charge it when you go to bed. I like the dual alarm. The light on the front is bright. This does not bother me at all but could bother someone. I like that it shows the date and the time on the front. I still haven't figured out how to set the controls to wake up to the ipod. I will eventually. I would say worth buying this product.
Works as designed July 19, 2010 M. Starke (Portland, OR USA) I've been using the iP9 clock radio for a couple of months now and have been very satisfied. Anyone with any experiance at setting up a modern digital device should have no problems getting started. There are two short paragraphs in the small instruction manual that tell you everything you need to know. Basically, you hold down a button to go into a set mode, then turn the select dial to find your options.
The sound is pretty good. Definately not "Home Theatre" of course, but acceptable for a unit of this small size. I like having the alarm volume come up gradually rather than suddenly blaring. Reception is quite good out here in the Portland, Oregon area.
I don't use the iPod docking station so I can't comment on that. There is an "aux" in on the back of the unit you can use for your non-Apple MP3 or CD player. You just need to supply your own miniplug cable.
The iP9 is still a lttle more expensive than I wanted to pay for a stereo clock radio, but it performs ok. There just isn't much variety for this type of item. Looks good and performs well. Might as well spend the money and buy it!
ok but no sound July 19, 2010 Ramon Ahumada (Hemet CA USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
You're better off buying a $30.00 alarm clock with just about the same features and sound. I sent it back and bought a Boston Acoustics I-plus.
A case of almost... July 18, 2010 David S. Nadal (Bellevue, WA United States) A bunch of really good ideas, but the execution seems slipshod and clunky...as though iHome figured, "Hey! Close enough!" After 8 months, I still get the incompatibility message on my 3G...the frequency of that improved slightly when I upgraded to iOS 4.0, but still. And the carcass design is such that the wrong buttons WILL be stepped on during the typical early morning breakfast song and dance (if you have a cat, you know what I mean). The iHome playlist is an example of the clunkiness, as is the fact that the unit will lose its dam' mind if you run any classical tunes through it: apparently, the advance through the playlist is driven by response strength, and the transitions between movements in some classical music--especialy strings--is just too delicate to be picked up...at which point, the iHome programming 'runs home to mama,' and sets off the onboard alarms. I've simply stopped trying to program it for the music I want and just let it play randomly. Oh, and be aware that the alarm systems are separate: the alarms you set on your iPhone have NO relationship to the alarms set on your iHome I9.
It does the job, but not much more, which is disappointing, because with a bit of follow-through, this would be a serious appliance. iHome has an iPhone app, but it requires a major lifestyle commitment to figure out, and the functionality of it is all on the iPhone; it does not change or improve anything on the I9. Supposedly, it will interact with the iHome's Studio series of clocks, but that is a pricy upgrade for which I'm not quite ready.
ihome clock radio July 12, 2010 Mitchell Rambler (ASHBURN, VA, US) a well designed unit that easily connects the iphone. the music is crisp and clear with excellent sound quality. the LED display has a light dimmer control which is needed since the disply is very bright.all in all a good purchse
