 Charging port broke/defective September 3, 2010

I was satisfied with the sound quality but I had trouble getting the charger plugged into the little port at the top of the speaker correctly in order to charge the speaker. It didn't seem to plug in securely enough to charge. I wound up pushing in the charger plug too hard in order to try to get it to set correctly and the port pushed back into the unit, rendering it unusable. Anyone have any suggestions for a better quality product?

I was, at first, reluctant to purchase a small unit for my ipod. But the reviews I read were pretty great, so I thought I'd take a chance. I'm really glad I did!!! For such a low price, this dock sounds wonderful!! The sound is far better than I hoped for!! Going to take it with us tonight for a picnic date. Take a chance...you won't be sorry!!!!

I've had this speaker set for about 6 months now. I've had to recharge it twice. The battery in this thing is insanely good. I gave it a good drain on my first go round, so I could use it after a fresh charge. Leaving it on, it took days to finally go dim. I actually got frustrated, trying to get it to just DIE already.
I was a bit suspicious of the whoopie doo expanding and twisting setup. Such gewgaws tend to break early and easily. But the parts in this module are rather sturdy. I've given it yanks, bangs, and tugs, but it's still turning and expanding smoothly.
My one beef is that there is no easy way to set one's ipod/iphone in the beast if one is using an arm mount/jacket. The slide-in holder is made for those who just have it nude. But I sort of plop the ipod against the holder, and it manages well enough. Small gripe about a good design.
For ipod users, the springy backplate to the holder can pop loose now and then if you are rough with it.. Minus one star for that. But the important stuff is all very durable.
Good job on this product.

I bought this speaker set after reading a few reviews online - I needed a small, convenient set-up for my car (which lacks the connection found in more recent models) that wouldn't be cumbersome or rely on radio frequency. The Livespeakr is a gem - great sound both in the car and out. It is sturdy and small enough to keep in a glove box or purse. It comes with a nice carrying pouch, and the rechargeable batteries have great lasting power. Someone complained about having to remove the protective casing from the iPod in order for it to fit into the speaker slot - the slot itself acts as a casing, and I find myself rarely taking the iPod out. Cannot recommend enough. Have ended up purchasing two, as my father talked me out of the first.
