Great Product for the Price. March 5, 2010 Sean Conroy (Cleveland Ohio) My wife wanted a speaker system for her IPhone, was looking at the higher priced systems and wasn't sure she would use them enough to justify the cost so I went with this model.
She has ended up using it a lot, and I've very happy with how it performs. The sounds is good, easy to use, and we've had it 3 months with no issues.
Very good value.
Good sound, poor controls March 3, 2010 Chet Brewer (Severna park, MD) Altec Lansing has the best sound for docks for the price generally. The sound from this unit is acceptable. The volume rheostat is too insensitive and it is tough to adjust the sound in any reasonable increment. The unit folds up well for travel. I have not used it with batteries so I can't rate this. It travels well, but is a little large for carryon luggage. Better for a bedroom or office then for travel. Typical A-L reliability, it is traveling weekly with no problems. A-L has a new portable for IPOD's coming out that looks like it may be a better travel option
I got this at a great price and got what I paid for. March 3, 2010 Eric Schenk (Mill Valley, CA United States) The major problem is the sound quality is not very good. Unless you are going to listen to podcasts, this unit is pretty much a waste of money. Other reviewers have stated that the sound is better than that for units in the same price range, but i can only conclude that this amounts to damning with faint praise. The sound is bass heavy and muffled. I'm sorry I bought this unit. Given what a good ipod cost, I should have ponied up at least $150 and gotten a unit with sound I won't find less than adequate and a remote. As Keith Richards would say: The price of an education. I usually do well as a bargain hunter. But every once in awhile, in the words of a Russian proverb, the cheap man pays twice.
I-Pod speakers February 28, 2010 James G. Towns (Gainesville, Ga.) Love this piece of equipment. It sounds good for its size, integrates nicely with my I-Phone and lives up to the Altec-Lansing name for quality. Two thumbs up !!!
Just Barely OK February 17, 2010 Darryl Grimes Not what I thought it would be. I've purchased other Altec Lansing products and I have be thoroughly satisfied with them. But the sound quality isn't rich and it sounds like an old portable record player.
