Designed to complement the iPhone and certified to meet all "Works with iPhone" and "Works with iPhone 3G" requirements, the T612 won't pick up any of the annoying hum that mobile phones often emit, meaning you can leave your iPhone on and not in airplane mode.  | The Altec Lansing T612 Speaker: - is specially shielded to complement the iPhone, letting you leave your iPhone on while playing music;
- provides full-range sound from deep bass to sterling highs;

XdB bass-enhancement gives deep powerful bass without a subwoofer. View larger. | Big, Full-Bodied Sound Employing four specially engineered drivers (two 3-inch full-range drivers and two silkdome 1-inch tweeters), the T612 offers smooth, rich sound through the full audio spectrum. Even without a subwoofer, the bass is deep and powerful, thanks to the XdB bass-enhancement technology. The T612 provides a system response from 60 Hz to 20 kHz. The built-in amplification provides 60 Watts of power RMS (120 Watts Peak), enough power to fill an entire room with dynamic music. No More Mobile Interference Unlike most speaker systems, the T612 is shielded from the noise emitted by mobile phones. The upshot is that you won't miss any phone calls because you don't need to put your iPhone in airplane mode just to listen to your music. When you do receive a call, the T612 will automatically pause the music to ensure that you hear your call. Elegant, Versatile Design With a minimalist and elegant silver-and-black design, the T612 will look great placed on a table in your living room or mounted on the wall. (A wall-mounting kit is available separately.) A built-in dock places your iPhone or dockable iPod at an easy-to-see angle in the center of the system while charging it. Also, an auxiliary stereo input lets you connect another MP3 or CD player to the system. A wireless remote is included, allowing you to control such functions as track forward/back, volume, and bass/treble levels from across the room. The Altec Lansing T612 is backed by a one-year warranty. What's in the Box T612 speaker system, remote control with battery, 3.5mm stereo cable, power supply, docking adapter for iPhone, user manual, and quick connect guide.
The T612 lets you leave your phone on while listening to music so you won't miss any calls. |

Defective after 6 months July 2, 2010 cwnet Bought them in Nov used about 10 times and in 6 months speakers not only do not produce sound but makes buzzing noise. Customer service for RMA and warranty non responsive from Altec Lansing. On the site they say this model is discontinued-so buyer beware!
Why buy a Bose? Sound quality great for the money July 2, 2010 Hitman 71 I bought this for my wife for Christmas. The sound quality is excellent, the price was right as well. We use this for both a 3G and 4G IPOD NANO. Love the fact that it charges the Nano as well. Why buck up for a BOSE??
Excellent sound and very slick! May 27, 2010 Jesse Adamiak 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this A.L. T612 sound-dock about 9 months ago (for $115 and free shipping!) It has been very reliable and provided me with hours of enjoyment. This is my main source of audio for my I-pod. It fills my entire living room with impressive sound. I have an excellent home theater set-up and could easily just hook up through my receiver. However, this unit has surpassed my expectations and it is all I need for enjoying my MP3 audio. Thanks Amazon!
Quit working after about 2 years May 19, 2010 James H. Beverley (Arlington, VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It simply quit working after about 2 years. What a disappointment! Up until then we were quite happy with it. But I won't be buying another Altec Lansing product. It may be old school, but I really think stuff should last longer than 2 years.

Well, were do I begin, oh yes guess what Altec Lansing this unit DOES NOT WORK with an ITOUCH 16gb. Basically, the engineering division forgot about this unit, oh yes you can use the adapter cord that comes with the unit but realize that you cannot use the remote, because it can't fit in the docking station, brilliant!! So, take a bow Altec Lansing and now that there is one unhappy customer on the West Coast who is returing this unit and since I have missed the return policy date by two days I will lose money on this deal. Yes, folks beware especially if you have an ITOUCH 16GB!
