Product Description The Altec Lansing T515 wireless speaker system with Bluetooth Technology is the only thing that should ever come between you and your mobile phone. It's a speakerphone, a portable stereo system, and a wearable headset with microphone. You can listen to music on your mobile phone, hear a phone call come in through the speaker or headset, take the call with the touch of a button, then go back to the music the same way. It's incredibly versatile, and Bluetooth wireless technology keeps you connected for up to 30 feet.
Amazon.com Product Description One of the first speaker systems developed for the convergence of music-enabled cell phones and wireless audio streaming, the Altec Lansing T515 combines three audio devices in one: a portable stereo system, a speaker phone, and a wearable headset. The system coordinates the devices in imaginative ways. Say you're wirelessly streaming your tunes from your phone to the T515 speaker or headset when a voice call rings in. With the touch of a button, you can pick up the call from the T515 as either a speakerphone or directly from your cell phone, leading the music to shut off automatically. Then, when your call is done, you can hit the same button and the music will return. And that's just one of the T515's many innovative functions. The key to the T515's impressive versatility is the pendant, which wirelessly captures a stereo music stream from the cell phone using A2DP Bluetooth technology. Listeners have the option of removing the pendant and using it as a headset, as it includes a built-in microphone and earbuds, or they can simply turn their cell phones into first-class speakerphones for occasions when several people need to converse at once. Further, the pendant's AVRCP Bluetooth protocol allows two-way (back and forth) wireless communication between the phone and the T515. And should you want to control the speaker system from a distance, the pendant handles that, too, as it syncs up with your phone to create a wireless remote control. Most importantly for music fans, the T515 produces high-quality, crystal-clear sound, with a unique orientation that boosts bass and stereo separation as well as overall volume. Other details include power and volume buttons along the top for easy fingertip adjustment; a lightweight, portable design with a carrying case for easy transport; a shielded design that prevents speaker buzz; a 3.5 mm auxiliary input and cable for connecting an MP3 player, iPod, or personal CD player; and a seven-hour battery life using four AAA batteries (included). The T515, which measures 7.5 by 3 by 2.4 inches (W x H x D), is backed by a one-year warranty. What's in the Box Speaker/dock, wireless pendant headset, earbuds, four AAA batteries, AC adapter, line-in cord, USB charging cable, user's manual.

Everything is great except phone calls June 17, 2010 M. Kaplan (St. Paul, MN) At first glance, the aging, no-longer-available Altec Lansing T515 seems like a true wonder. The stereo output is adequate, the bluetooth receiver lets you plug in your own headphones (those included are decent albeit awkwardly assembled and short-corded), and range is excellent.
Unfortunately, if you try to make a phone call, expect MANY, MANY complaints from people on the other end of the conversation. It crackles, breaks up, echoes. Thankfully, your own ears are spared these problems, but it's absolute hell for a listener on the other side at any range. I'm guessing the mic in the receiver is neither strong nor well constructed.
It's a shame; it's just one step shy of a really, really nice device.
Great portable stereo April 11, 2010 Anthony Poe (Dayton, OH) We purchased this speaker to use in conjunction with my BlackBerry on camping trips. I store a lot of music on my phone and it is nice to connect via bluetooth to play music at the campsite. No wires with great battery life. That is exactly what we wanted. We have also occasionally used the bluetooth dongle to connect a 3.5 mm to RCA jack with the home receiver to also play music from my BlackBerry instead of using the portable radio. That is a very cool extra feature.
Outstanding December 22, 2009 Scott J. Pilz (Auburndale, WI USA) No complaints here. I use the bluetooth speakers for linking to my HTC Hero (I stream everything online). Superb. Sound is great. Fills every room I have tried it in. Much louder than what you would expect for the size.
Nice speakers, output not so great December 12, 2009 T. Tran (APO, AE, US) I like these speakers because I was looking for bluetooth speakers to make my life more wireless, but the pros and cons will be detailed as shown
pros:
1)wireless speakers are cool, bluetooth worked well without breaks
2)remote thingi is nifty
cons:
1) audio cracks way too much when volume is turned up high
2) nice to listen to music if you are home in a room by yourself, nearly useless outside as a form of speakers
I recommend all in 1 units, my friend bought one of those with an mp3 player built in with the speakers and a rechargable battery, it blew this unit away.
secret "line out"? Bluetooth converter? July 10, 2009 D. Belle (OR United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Has no one but my son noticed that you can play through any speaker system, basically convert it to bluetooth, by connecting with the stereo 3.5 mm plug to the speaker output on the detachable headset? The included speakers are ok for the size, but you should try it with your Bose!
