Amazon.com Product Description Leave it to the makers of the first portable iPod speaker system to come up with a mini-theater solution that blows the doors off the competition. The Altec Lansing iMV712 inMotion speaker/video system boasts a pair of specially engineered, 3-inch neodymium speakers and a built-in, 4-inch side-firing subwoofer, which team up to deliver a full spectrum of pure, distinct sound with exceptional low frequencies. The resulting immersive audio is further heightened by Altec Lansing's Stereo Field Expander (SFX), which makes the speakers sound further apart than they really are--a must when watching movies with dramatic soundtracks. Speaking of movies, the iMV712 makes video come alive thanks to the high-resolution, widescreen 8.5-inch LCD display located between the speakers. Simply plop any iPod in the built-in docking station--the unit works with the iPod 3G, iPod 4G (click wheel), iPod photo, iPod video 5G/5.5G, iPod mini, and iPod nano 1G and 2G--and you can enjoy everything from obscure indie movies to your favorite TV shows to the latest Shins song. As with the best portable mini-theater systems, the iMV712 works with more than just iPods, with a universal cradle that fits other brands of music and video players and an auxiliary A/V input for connecting a second device, such as a camcorder, CD player, digital camera, or portable DVD player. And thanks to the wireless remote control, it's a breeze to control your iPod and speakers from across the room. Other details include a built-in alarm (requires iPods with alarm and sleep timer features), an S-video output for connecting to a TV, and an elegant black housing that looks great anywhere in the home. The iMV712 measures 18.5 by 7.7 by 8.2 inches (W x H x D), weighs 8.4 pounds, and carries a one-year warranty. What's in the Box iMV712 inMotion mini-theater system, RCA-to-3.5 mm stereo cable adapter, universal MP3 cradle, quick connect instructions, user's manual.

Disappointing October 20, 2009 Robin (MD USA) It looked like a bargain, and it was compatible with our iPods. It was easy to install, and the size of the speaker units was impressive! But I'm afraid the sound wasn't - far too much base, and not enough treble, and not enough options to adjust the sound levels properly. Perhaps it's fine if you're just looking to use it for videos, but it's not worth relying on for the music reproduction quality. Often the lyrics are simply drowned out. Going to have to buy something else - this just doesn't cut it for us.
I love this Mini theater October 5, 2009 Eduardo Roman If you have an ipod 5g or erlier this is the perfect item that you want to have in your room. Great sound quality and its not to heavy and also this is the best for the price that you pay.
Love it December 27, 2008 Michchick (Brighton, MI USA) I bought this for myself as a Christmas gift to use with my 5th generation video ipod and it is fabulous. I can now watch my movies without worrying about the battery running down and the sound is incredible. I got it for $119 which is a steal. I highly recommend for those who have compatible devices--it's a must-have item. I'm considering buying a second unit.
Altec Lansing iM712 Review December 16, 2008 Shawn P. Berry I've enjoyed this product immensley. I own an iPod Nano 4G. Unfortunatly the video display of the iM712 isn't compatable with the Nano 4G but the sound makes up for the video incompatability. It has outstanding sound which fills the room. The remote is easy to use and you can navigait easily through the iPod menus. The best thing about this product is, it has tremendous sound without spending an arm and a leg. This system can rival any other sound system that costs several hundred dollars. At a price around $150 it is well worth it! It's also easy to pack up and bring to a differnet place or into another room.

I hate to be a party Pooper for Amazon, but this item is available OL for $99.00!
That's Brand New, and a respectable Seller. (Sorry, but I won't use Amazon to undercut Amazon.)
I ordered mine today (11/19/2008), so I'll update performance later.
Prices ARE droping, so do yourself a favor and shop around! For EVERYTHING!
